The new ruling coalition of the Czech Republic has decided to review relations with Russia
A new draft program of the Czech Republic’s ruling coalition, which is currently being created by the five liberal parties, envisages reform of relations with Russia and China, said Martin Dvorak, a member of the working group preparing the program.
“In the field of foreign policy, the new government of the republic will follow the tradition of the first president of the independent Czech Republic, Vaclav Havel, which means an emphasis on human rights and civil society. The forthcoming document stresses the priority of bilateral relations, above all with Germany, the strategic partnership with Israel and the need to revise relations with Russia and China”, – Dvořák said.
The future programme will limit access to important Czech infrastructure by “non-democratic states” and defence expenditure must rise to 2 per cent of GDP by 2025, as demanded by NATO members.
