Lavrov meets Taliban delegation in Moscow

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a meeting with a delegation of the radical Taliban movement on Wednesday, October 20, it was reported

During the meeting, he reportedly managed to discuss with the delegation the issue of forming a new government in Afghanistan. Lavrov said that Moscow has already assessed the measures being taken by the Taliban to stabilise the situation in Afghanistan.

“We notice their efforts to stabilize the military and political situation and establish the operation of the state apparatus”, –  Lavrov said.

During the conversation, Lavrov urged them to fulfill their promise that the territory of Afghanistan would not be used against third states.

Earlier it was reported that members of the terrorist organisation intend to ask for economic and political support for Afghanistan.
