Taliban set up supreme court in Afghanistan

The Taliban* has created a supreme court in Afghanistan, RIA Novosti reports, citing a statement by the group’s representative, Ahmadullah Muttaki.

Abdul Hakim Haqqani was appointed acting chairman of the court.

In early August, after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban* militants organized an offensive against the positions of government forces and entered Kabul on August 15. On the night of August 31, the United States withdrew all the military from Afghanistan and officially completed its mission in this country.

After that, the militants announced the end of the 20-year war and began to form the government and other authorities.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that the United States will resume evacuating people from Afghanistan by the end of the year.
