An explosion occurs near a mosque in the Afghan province of Kandahar

In Afghanistan, in the province of Kandahar, near a Shiite mosque, an explosion thundered, RIA Novosti reports.


According to the agency’s source, a suicide bomber carried out the explosion near the religious institution. According to preliminary data, seven people became victims of the attack, 13 were injured.

A week ago, on October 8, an explosion occurred in a Shiite mosque in Kunduz province. Then more than 120 parishioners died, and more than 150 people were injured. The Islamic State* terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the attack.

On October 3, an explosion near the Idgah mosque in Kabul killed 12 people and injured another 32.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported about an explosion in the capital of the Afghan province of Kunar – the city of Asadabad.
