US embassy warns of risk of violence at radical march in Kiev

The United States Embassy in Ukraine has issued a warning about the risk of violence at a march by Ukrainian nationalists in central Kiev

“The far-right groups are planning a large march, possibly numbering in the thousands […] Preliminary information and previous experience point to the potential for violence”, –  the US embassy said in a statement.

As previously reported by News Front, some ten thousand Ukrainian radicals have marched in the so-called “UPA* March of Glory”. The nationalists plan to march through the centre of Kiev to Maidan Nezalezhnosti.

It should be recalled that such actions are regularly accompanied by violent scuffles between the march participants and clashes with police officers. For example, in 2014, radicals threw smoke bombs and stones at the Verkhovna Rada building.
