Ukrainian journalist Dmitriy Gordon has called on the Ukrainian authorities to refuse to join the EU since “it is doomed”
“The EU is doomed, in my opinion, and Ukraine should not join it”, – Gordon said on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
In his opinion, the EU is “an artificial entity that unites too different peoples and governments”. The journalist cited as an example the developed manufacturing sector in Germany, which is completely absent in Greece.
Gordon added that Ukraine should supposedly be a “neutral country like Switzerland and Finland” but join the North Atlantic Alliance because it could provide a “security umbrella”.
“Against NATO, of course, I wouldn’t mind. I would dream about it. But the European Union – I think this conversation should be abandoned”, – the journalist stressed.
