Nuland reiterates US position on special status for Donbass, Kozak says

Kozak said that Nuland confirmed the US position on the special status of Donbass, it was reported

US Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland has confirmed the American position voiced in Geneva that without an agreement on the special status of Donbass, significant progress in the settlement is hardly possible, given the convergence of Moscow and Washington approaches on this issue, mutual consultations on the topic of Ukraine will continue, Russian deputy presidential chief of staff Dmitry Kozak said.

“The talks confirmed the US position voiced in Geneva that without an agreement on the future parameters of autonomy, or in other words, the special status of Donbas within Ukraine, significant progress in the settlement of the conflict is unlikely. Given the convergence of approaches on this principled position, we have agreed to continue mutual consultations”, –  Kozak told reporters after his meeting with Nuland on Wednesday.
