Kiev hopes for an EU military mission as soon as this year

An EU military advisory and training mission will be deployed in Ukraine by the end of the year, with involving 30 permanent advisers from the European Union, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s press service has reported

“We are doing everything necessary so that by the end of this year the military advisory and training mission will move from the plane of developing a legal framework to the state of practical implementation for the benefit of both Ukraine and the EU”, –  Defence Minister Andriy Taran said.

The Ukrainian Defence Minister said that the implementation of such a project would make it possible to attract best practices and assistance in the process of reforming the AFU military education system.
It is worth noting that on the same issue, President of the European Council Charles Michel said that the leaders of the European Union are still considering the possibility of establishing a training military mission of the EU in Ukraine.
