President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said at a joint press conference following the EU-Ukraine summit that Brussels would work out “all scenarios” for the development of events around gas supplies to Ukraine.
“I understand your concern about gas supplies, and this is an issue not only for this winter, but also for the future. And the task for the Commission is to work out all the scenarios together with Ukraine”, said the head of the EC.
According to her, the issue of using the Ukrainian gas transportation infrastructure, in particular, underground gas storage facilities, will also be studied. Ursula von der Leyen also advised Kiev to focus on improving energy efficiency.
In addition, at the end of the 23rd EU-Ukraine summit, a joint statement was published in which Brussels and Kiev called Russia “a party to the conflict on the territory of Donbass.”
