EU calls for Kunduz bombing masterminds to be brought to justice

The European Union has called for the prosecution of the bombing of a mosque in Kunduz, Afghanistan, as was reported

On Friday, October 8, at least 46 people were killed and 143 were wounded in an explosion at a Shiite mosque in Afghanistan’s Kunduz province.

In the wake of the attack, the EU has called for the perpetrators of the bombing of a Shiite mosque in Afghanistan’s Kunduz province to be brought to justice, a spokesman for the union’s foreign policy service said.

 

“The perpetrators of this heinous crime, for which the terrorist group Islamic State-Vilayat Khorasan has claimed responsibility, must be brought to justice. The rights of all Afghans, including the right to life and the rights of ethnic minorities, must be respected and protected”, –  the EU representative said in a written statement.

The EU remains committed to peace and stability in Afghanistan, and is ready to support the people of that country, he said.
Earlier it was reported that the terrorist group Islamic State – Wilayat Khorasan has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
