The Secretary of State at the French Foreign Ministry, Clement Bon, called the decision of the Constitutional Court of Poland, which confirmed the superiority of the republic’s constitution over the EU legislation, as an attack against the European Union.
“This is very serious. This is not a technical or legal issue at all. It is a political issue that is included in a long list of provocations against the European Union,” Bon said on the air of BFMTV.
He stressed that this is very serious, because there is a risk of Poland’s exit from the EU.
“Yes, this attack is against the European Union,” the French secretary of state said. “But I want to say that I would not like Poland to leave the European Union,” Bon said.
He did not rule out the consequences of such a decision, saying that the EU may refuse financial support for the plan to restore the Polish economy.
