Georgian authorities deny possibility of Saakashvili extradition to Ukraine

Georgia is not going to send fugitive ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili to Ukraine. This was stated by Georgian Deputy Prime Minister Thea Tsulukiani

According to her, Tbilisi has completely ruled out the option of Saakashvili’s extradition, Telegram channel Klymenko Time reported. He can be transferred to another country only if he is involved in criminal cases there.

“If we’re talking about handing Saakashvili over to Ukraine to serve the prison term awarded to him in Georgia on Ukrainian territory, we have no desire”, –  Tsulukiani said.

Saakashvili’s lawyers also spoke on the subject. They stated he may refuse the extradition himself. At the same time such an option was not even offered to him.

Miho gave a letter to the lawyers who visited him in prison. He claimed impressive success of the opposition. It is his political force that lost the local elections. So far, all indications are that Saakashvili is hoping to turn himself into a victim and some kind of opposition leader.
