Lukashenko says in case of external aggression against Belarus, it will become one military base with Russia

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said in an interview with CNN that in the event of external aggression, Minsk will go for an even closer rapprochement with Moscow, RIA Novosti reports.

“If necessary, Belarus will turn into a single base for Belarus and Russia, a military base in order to resist your aggression. If suddenly you decide on this, or separate neighboring states. You must clearly understand this”, Lukashenko said.

At the same time, the Belarusian leader added that there is not a single foreign base on the territory of the republic, except for two Russian civilian bases.

“This is a base from the Soviet times, it was built in the Soviet Union for early detection of the launch of nuclear missiles from your territory. And the second is the communications base through which the Russian Armed Forces communicate with their fleet in the Atlantic. That’s all the bases”, he explained.

Alexander Lukashenko said that about 30-40 people are serving at these bases.

Earlier News Front reported that on September 30, Alexander Lukashenko gave a long interview to the American television company CNN.
