Georgia said that Saakashvili arrived in the country to carry out a coup

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili arrived at home to carry out a coup d’etat, as well as to create riots, said the head of the ruling party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia”, former speaker of parliament Irakli Kobakhidze, reports TASS.

“He arrived in Georgia in order to carry out a coup and provoke unrest in the country. Accordingly, the law enforcement agencies took all measures to stop his new crime”, the politician said.

The head of the ruling party pointed out that Saakashvili has not left Georgia alone for 18 years.

“First, the first nine years, when he was in power, and you remember the crimes he committed, and then the other nine years in opposition,” concluded the head of the Georgian Dream.

He also added that all procedures related to the detention of Saakashvili and his subsequent sending to prison will comply with the existing legal norms, and all information will be transferred to the Ukrainian side.
