Uniper Chairman of the Board Klaus-Dieter Maubach said that he does not count on a quick certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, the new thread will not “help” Germany in the coming winter.
“Taking into account everything that I know, the certification of the gas pipeline will happen so late anyway that this pipeline will not help us this winter,” Handelsblatt quoted Maubach as speaking at an event in Dusseldorf.
Maubach also commented on the situation on the EU gas market, stressing that “all the contracts that we signed with Gazprom are being fulfilled.” At the same time, Maubach refrained from expressing an opinion as to whether Russia is supplying enough gas volumes in accordance with its capabilities or simply does not want to supply additional volumes.
