According to Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the interference of foreign IT giants in the Russian elections, including with search results, can and should be limited, reports RT.
“Do not know. But I proceed from the well-known Latin formula quid pro quo – “quid pro quo”. Well, in quotes, of course. If they offered us such a service, why not? I believe that it is quite possible to consider conducting such an investigation,”, Medvedev said.
However, in the opinion of the deputy head of the Russian Security Council, this should be decided by the competent authorities, including law enforcement officers and the Central Election Commission.
“Ultimately, the Russian Foreign Ministry must also take part in this. But, in principle, if there is sufficient evidence that they interfered, why not?” he remarked.
Medvedev added that during the three-day voting, a huge number of attacks were carried out on the servers of the Central Election Commission, and half of them came from the United States.
