The situation in Afghanistan was the result of detrimental US policies – Foreign Intelligence Service chief

The entire state machine of the United States is responsible for the failure of the American mission in Afghanistan and the seizure of power by the Taliban, Sergey Naryshkin, director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, said in an interview with RT

“Yes, indeed, our colleagues from the Central Intelligence Agency do not envy now … The fact is that what happened in Afghanistan, and such a hasty withdrawal of troops, and the flight of the puppet government of Afghanistan – is all a consequence of the detrimental policy of the United States of America and the line to impose their model of social development,” – said the head of Foreign Intelligence Service.

According to him, one should not shift the responsibility for the failure of the American mission solely to the CDC, as the US Department of Defense, the military intelligence, the State Department and the Office of the Presidential Security Adviser were also involved in the operation in Afghanistan.

“They did not consider one thing. They didn’t consider their own capabilities. They didn’t want to face, if you will, the truth. And the truth was that the United States cannot fulfill the function of a global hegemon”, –  assumed by the United States.
