Poland will not have the right to block certification of the Nord Stream 2 operator

The Polish oil and gas company PGNiG, which will take part in the certification of the Russian gas pipeline in Germany, will not have a veto.

This was stated by a representative of the German regulator – the Federal Network Agency, reports TASS.

At the same time, the Polish PGNiG will be able to present its arguments during the procedure.

“The Federal Grid Agency has given a positive response to the applications of PGNiG SA and PST GmbH companies for involvement in the certification process (Nord Stream-2, – ed.). They can participate in the administrative process, especially they have the right to express their point of view. The parties involved do not have the right to veto”, the message says.

PGNiG intends to prove that Nord Stream 2 allegedly does not meet the requirements for the pipeline operator in form and substance. In particular, with regard to the security of supplies and the corporate structure of the company.
