Alisa Weidel and Tino Krupalla, who are in favor of lifting Western sanctions and launching the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, are leading the Alternative for Germany Eurosceptic party to the parliamentary elections, said Beatrix von Storch, one of the leaders of the national-conservative wing of the party.

“Our interests are to maintain good relations with both Russia and the United States. Intensive trade, intensive dialogue is always good. Diplomatic cooling and trade restrictions are not in our interests. We consider the actions of the current government of the FRG towards Russia in recent years to be wrong. Trade sanctions against Russia are not good, they hurt us, so we are against them. We also oppose interference in the internal affairs of Russia”, Storch said.

According to the politician, her party adheres to a clear position on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, since it is extremely important for Germany, and the party will continue to fight for it.
