The German government has explained why Europe has faced such a high gas price this year
The representative of the Ministry of Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany Susanna Ungrad voiced a number of reasons that led to the disaster. She said that a difficult winter, economic changes, increased demand for gas, the conjuncture in Asia, and fires in Siberia were to blame.
At the same time, Berlin refuses to blame the situation on Russia. Ungrad stressed that Moscow fulfills all its obligations for gas deliveries to Europe.
He also stressed that German authorities are not going to give up natural gas in the country’s energy structure. It is needed at least as a transitional technology until the country completely switches to renewable energy sources.
