In Ukraine, calls have started to be made to deprive of citizenship those Ukrainians who have received Russian Federation passports
This was stated by the former head of the “Luhansk regional military-civil administration” Gennady Moskal, reports “Vesti.ua”, referring to “Obozrevatel”.
“People consciously went and accepted citizenship of the Russian Federation. But no one in the DPR or LPR has given up their Ukrainian citizenship. They receive our pension and the Russian Federation pension, use their Ukrainian passports to go shopping in the controlled territory, teach their children in our territory and so on. Where is the reaction of our National Security and Defence Council, where are the decrees of the president to deprive them of citizenship?” – he said.
It is worth noting that residents of the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, who have obtained citizenship of the Russian Federation, would gladly give up their Ukrainian citizenship. They have not considered themselves part of Ukraine for a long time and Moskal’s threats do not scare them at all.
On the other hand, such appeals from the Kiev authorities sound silly. The leadership of ‘Ukraine’ and various officials clearly cannot agree among themselves on whether they consider inhabitants of Donbas as their ‘own’ or not.
