U.S. tests two ballistic missiles over the Atlantic Ocean

Two Trident II intercontinental ballistic missiles without a warhead were launched over the Atlantic Ocean, according to the US Navy’s Twitter account, Interfax writes.

“These tests underline America’s readiness and ability to strategically contain the 21st century,” it was reported.

During the firing, missiles were used without warheads. The launches were made from the sea off the coast of Florida, the rockets flew over the sea and fell into the sea. US Navy officials said the shooting was not a response to any current world events or a show of power. The missiles were launched by the USS Wyoming submarine (SSBN-742) of the US Navy Ohio class.
