The Ukrainian Armed Forces have strengthened the air defense system on the country’s northern borders in preparation for the Combined Efforts 2021 command and staff exercise.
“As part of the strategic command and staff exercises” United Efforts – 2021”, the air defense system in the northern direction has been strengthened”, the Center air command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on its Facebook page.
It is noted that the subdivisions of the radio-technical and anti-aircraft missile forces of the Center air command have moved to certain positions, which “makes it possible to significantly strengthen the system of radar reconnaissance and anti-aircraft missile cover.”
The command also appealed to the residents of the Chernihiv region of Ukraine with a request “not to interfere and not to disclose the routes of the redeployment of troops,” stressing that “all activities are carried out within the framework of the exercises.”
The Joint Efforts command post exercise will be held from September 22 to 30, jointly with 15 countries, of which 11 are members of the North Atlantic Alliance. Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the exercises would serve as “an element of deterring the aggressor.”
