Zelensky convenes working group to fight SP2

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to try to fight Russia’s Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline

The Strana.ua website reports that the guarantor has ordered the creation of a working group. It will deal with proposals to neutralize the risks associated with threats from the construction of gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine.

The press service of the Ukrainian presidential office explained that the decision to set up the group was taken against the background of the completed construction of Nord Stream 2. The project was described as “a threat to the national security of the country”.

The working group will be headed by the head of the OPU, Andriy Yermak. In addition, it will include the head of the Security Service Ivan Bakanov, the head of Naftohaz Ukrayiny Yuriy Vitrenko, Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko and the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov.
