Victoria Nuland, who holds the post of Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs at the State Department, may visit Moscow in the near future
It is reported by Interfax, citing its sources. According to the newspaper, the diplomat’s visit to the Russian capital may take place this autumn. The US and Russia are already discussing the matter.
However, no exact details of Nuland’s future trip are available. It is considered most likely that she will appear in Moscow in November.
It is worth noting that since May 2019, Nuland has been under reciprocal sanctions from the Russian side. Thus, she is banned from entering the territory of the Russian Federation.
Nuland has been engaged in a diplomatic career for 32 years. She took her current position at the State Department in April this year. However, she was Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs under President Barack Obama.
