Taliban announces plans to create a regular army

The Taliban are considering setting up a regular army in Afghanistan “in the near future,” Tolo News reported.

This statement was made by the chief of staff of the armed forces of the republic, Kari Fasikhuddina.

In August, against the background of the withdrawal of the American military contingent from the Islamic Republic, the Taliban* captured all major cities and border crossings and announced the end of the twenty-year war. In early September, the Taliban announced the composition of an interim government.
