European Council expert on international relations Gustav Gressel said that American President Joe Biden deliberately postponed the meeting with the head of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, FAN reports. The expert suggested that Biden was dissatisfied with the internal reforms carried out in the Independent.
For example, the head of the White House was disappointed by the results of the “fight against Ukrainian oligarchs.”
According to Gressel, Zelensky only slightly changed the work of the executive branch, although he had to carry out institutional changes in the judicial system and law enforcement agencies.
Biden is also dissatisfied with the reform in the “corrupt company Naftogaz”, which was the main requirement of the United States and the IMF. This would interfere with the operation of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. But as a result, the Kiev authorities only changed the general director of the company. The former acting Minister of Energy of the country Yuriy Vitrenko became the head. However, this decision only made the situation worse.
However, Zelensky managed to get a meeting with Biden on September 1.
