Russian citizen Alexander Franchetti, who was detained in Prague, has been arrested by a Czech court
This was reported by Franchetti’s lawyer, reports Telegram-channel RIA Novosti. The defence of the Russian is appealing against the court’s decision.
Franchetti stresses that he denies the charges that have been brought against him. He called his treatment a “step towards fascism”. However, the appeal will take up to three weeks to be heard.
Franchetti was arrested in the Czech capital on an international warrant issued by Ukraine. Kiev drew attention to the Russian for actively advocating the return of Crimea to the Russian Federation in 2014.
The detainee was going to be deported to Ukraine. However, Franchetti’s daughter recently said that Kiev would not extradite her father. The situation is being closely monitored by the Russian diplomatic mission, which is doing everything possible to protect his compatriot.
