Joe Biden, the US president, intends to convene a summit of the Quartet leaders on September 24. It includes the United States, Australia, India and Japan
This is reported by the Ukrainian Truth, citing a statement from the White House. He will invite the prime ministers of these countries to Washington.
“President Biden is looking forward to welcoming to the White House Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga”
Biden plans to discuss with them expanding ties and promoting practical cooperation. The main topics of the meeting will be combating the coronavirus pandemic, overcoming the climate crisis, cyberspace and “promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region”.
White House officials said the future summit demonstrates the Biden administration’s priority for engagement in this part of the world
