The Kremlin has said that if Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky intends to discuss the ownership of Crimea in a personal meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, it is impossible
The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitriy Peskov, said this, it was reported. This is how he commented on rumours that Kiev wants to talk about the peninsula during hypothetical talks with the Russian side.
“No, impossible in this formulation of the question. Naturally, it is not possible to discuss Crimea. Therefore, such wording actually puts into question the hypothetical possibility of holding such a meeting”, – he said.
Putin’s representative stressed that the Russian head of state had no intention to talk to Zelensky about the military confrontation in Donbass. His country is not a party to the conflict, and therefore there is no point in bringing up this topic.
The talks between Zelensky and Putin make sense if they discuss the implementation of the Minsk agreements by Kiev, the implementation of the Paris summit condition and the bilateral relations between Ukraine and Russia.
