The US and Germany will take action against the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline if Russia uses it as a weapon.
This was stated by the American diplomat Kurt Volcker. His words are quoted by the edition “Glavred Ukraine”, writes RIA Novosti.
Volcker noted that the United States is currently trying to resist the implementation of the project, but so far this struggle is limited to words.
He also added that the agreement between Washington and Berlin, allowing the completion of the gas pipeline without additional sanctions against its builders, is due to financial benefits.
“We have to speak from the point of view of gas, that is, from the point of view of security, since Russia is trying to influence Europe and this threatens Ukraine”, Volcker says.
The diplomat said that if Moscow starts using gas as a weapon, it faces serious consequences, the diplomat said.
