There may be a migration crisis in Russia due to the situation in Afghanistan

Citizens of the republic make up one of the largest groups of refugees who are looking for salvation in Europe, said Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

“Tens of thousands of people had to leave their homeland in search of a peaceful life. A new round of the migration crisis threatens Russia and the countries of Central Asia”, he stated.

Medvedev also said that the United States and its allies left tens of thousands of Afghans to fend for themselves, who for all these twenty years sincerely believed in a “Western future” and worked closely with NATO.

Moscow is interested in the intra-Afghan differences being resolved with the participation of all political forces of this country, but the main task of Russia in this situation is to ensure not only its own security, but also the security of its allies in the CSTO, said the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
