Poles want to produce gas in western Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal met with his Polish counterpart Mateusz Morawiecki. One of the topics of their talks was gas production on the territory of Ukraine.

Politicians discussed bilateral cooperation, and the head of the Polish government said that Warsaw is ready to produce natural gas in the western part of the neighboring country, the newspaper “Strana.ua” reports, referring to the Polsat News portal.

Economic cooperation has become the main problem that Shmygal and Moravetsky spoke about. Against this background, the Polish prime minister noted that last year his country became Ukraine’s third trade partner. In addition, he noted the growing Polish investment in Kiev.

As for gas production, Morawiecki believes that in this way Poland, again, helps Ukraine. Allegedly, this will ensure “energy independence from Russia.”

The meeting between Moravetsky and Shmygal took place within the framework of the Economic Forum, which is taking place in the Polish city of Karpacz. It will last three days, during which 200 discussion platforms on 20 issues will be held.
