Construction of Nord Stream-2 is fully completed

Gazprom’s official Telegram channel reported that the construction of the Russian Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline has been fully completed.

“At a morning operational meeting at PJSC Gazprom, Chairman of the Board Alexei Miller said that this morning at 8.45 Moscow time the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline has been fully completed,” Gazprom said in a statement.

Nord Stream-2 is a two-line pipeline with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The gas pipeline was built from the shores of Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea. The United States actively opposed the completion of the project, as it wants to supply its own liquefied gas to Europe.

First Deputy Head of the International Committee of the Federation Council Vladimir Dzhabarov spoke about the benefits of Nord Stream-2 for European countries. Earlier it became known that the cost of a cubic meter of blue fuel in Europe reached $700.
