Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that US leader Joe Biden, during the visit of his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to the States, outlined that Ukraine will never be left alone with Russia and will be supported
“The key assurance lay in the fact that President Biden clearly indicated that Ukraine would never be left alone with Russia and would have support, and support would grow in case of escalation from Russia”, – the Ukrainian foreign minister said.
At the same time, Kuleba does not hide the fact that by helping Ukraine, the US is sending a signal to Russia.
“The fact that it was for [Zelensky’s] visit that the US additionally allocated aid for Ukraine’s military needs, including the well-known [missile systems] Javelin, by the end of the year, is a signal to Russia. On the sidelines of the visit, the US partners said this and said that the best signal to Russia is increased US support for Ukraine”, – the minister said. In his opinion, the Ukrainian delegation also heard a similar support for Ukraine in the US Congress.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister named specific steps that Kiev would receive from Western partners, he said.
“This support will be manifested in increased assistance to Ukraine, in the application of diplomatic measures to contain Russia, in the development of joint security projects between Ukraine and the US and other NATO countries”, – he listed, adding that the focus would be primarily on security projects in the Black Sea.
