Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko has said that the Verkhovna Rada will hold an extraordinary session on September 9, at which it plans to adopt an appeal to the US Congress regarding granting Ukraine the status of a major US ally outside NATO
“The Rada will consider an appeal to Congress to grant Ukraine the status of a key non-NATO ally. Tentatively, the extraordinary session will take place on Thursday!” – he wrote in a telegram.
According to the Ukrainian MP, MNNA status would make Ukraine a key US ally in Eastern Europe.
He noted that 154 signatures of MPs had been collected to convene the extraordinary session.
