The Kiev authorities approach any task guided by Russophobic views. The press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov is sure of this.
He commented on the extension of the preventive measure for the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life, Viktor Medvedchuk, reports Strana.ua, citing RIA Novosti. The court decided to leave the oppositionist under house arrest for at least another two months.
“We see that, unfortunately, those forces in Ukraine that have a more balanced approach, a more balanced approach, and who are still supporters of discussing the most pressing issues with Russia, but discussions, these forces are now under house arrest. Roughly, absolutely, as they say, through the knee, they are sitting under house arrest, and the court is only stamping out the extension of this house arrest. This is what we see, so this Russophobic approach dominates in everything and everything”, said Peskov.
A spokesman for Vladimir Putin previously spoke of hypothetical talks between Russia and Ukraine. He noted that the President of the Russian Federation wants to restore good-neighborly relations and is ready for personal meetings.
However, there is not enough political will in Kiev to take such a step.
