Former head of the Austrian oil company OMV Rainer Seele said that the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline will be completed in the coming days, RIA Novosti reports.
“Next week”, Seele said in an interview with the Vedomosti newspaper, answering a question about the timing of the completion of the construction of Nord Stream-2.
He also noted that the cost of the project was reduced in the process of its implementation. According to Seele, initially Nord Stream-2 was expected to cost 950 million euros, but thanks to the work of Nord Stream 2 AG, this amount has been significantly reduced.
Earlier, the head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, said that the first gas via Nord Stream 2 could go already in this heating season by the end of this year. In his opinion, despite the launch of the Russian gas pipeline, gas prices in Europe may remain high due to the low filling of underground storage facilities due to abnormally low temperatures in 2021.
