Consumption of Russian coal in the world increased by 10%

Russian coal is increasingly preferred on the world market. In the first half of 2021, its consumption increased by 9.8%.

This is reported by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, reports EADaily. Fuel exports reached 107.3 million tons.

“Consumption of Russian coal in the world is growing. For the first half of 2021, the total export of Russian coal amounted to 107.3 million tons, which is 9.8% more than in the same period last year”, the ministry said.

Consumption of Russian coal in Europe increased by 2.4% to 22.5 million tons, in China – to 24.15 million tons. Last year, the volume was only 16.2 million tons.

In addition, the demand for coal from Russia has grown in the African continent. The consumption of Russian fuel there increased from 3.52 million tons to 4.79 million tons. Coal exports to Central and South America increased from 1.26 million tons to 2.12 million tons.
