Ukraine expects to receive a new portion of lethal weapons from the United States by the end of this year. The deliveries take place as part of Washington’s military assistance program to Kiev.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that in 2021 the United States will transfer the Javeline anti-tank portable missile systems, Ukraina.ru reports, citing RBK-Ukraine.
“This year Ukraine will receive a batch of Javelin armor-piercing systems,” the diplomat said.
In an interview with the publication, Kuleba also noted that Kiev is going to agree on other types of weapons. However, he refused to develop this topic.
For now, he is pinning his hopes on his meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. It is scheduled for the fall. According to Kuleba, they will discuss the adoption of a new Charter for Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and the United States.
