Unknown persons started shooting in the northwest of Washington. Three people became victims of criminals, three more were injured. This was announced by the head of the police department of the District of Columbia, Robert Conti, reports TASS.
“As a result of the shooting, three people were killed. Three more were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries”, Conti told reporters.
It is noted that the incident took place in the evening: unknown young people got out of the car, opened fire on passers-by, and then fled. A reward of $ 75,000 has been announced for information about the criminals. A police spokesman stressed that the United States has long had a problem of violence with the use of firearms.
“We know this problem is not unique to Washington, but I think it speaks to the disease in general that we see in our society. This disease is violence with the use of weapons”, he said.
