A new Afghan government with half of the previous ministries will be formed as soon as possible, but there will be no women ministers in it, said Zabiullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman.
“We will form a government of national unity as soon as possible. We would like to create a compact government with half of the previous ministries,” he said in an interview with the Italian newspaper la Repubblica.
According to him, the “big question mark” remains the population of the Panjshir region, the dialogue with which does not yield results. “The peace process we had hoped for is becoming more complicated. We have demanded that Panjshir troops surrender in order to enter the government, otherwise they will be crushed,” said a Taliban spokesman.
Answering the question whether women can enter the new government of the country, Mujahid said: “Not as ministers, but following the precepts of the Koran and in accordance with Sharia law, women can, for example, work in ministries, in the police or, for example, in the judiciary. as assistants. ” In addition, Mujahid noted, Afghan women will be able to study in universities.
Talking about the international ties of the new Afghan authorities, a Taliban spokesman * said that China is the main partner for him, representing “a fundamental and incredible opportunity, ready to invest and rebuild the country.”
“China is our gateway to markets around the world,” Mujahid added.
He also denied the opinion about the cooling of relations with Russia, although he said that “such an impression may be created.”
“We continue to maintain excellent relations with such an important partner as Russia, which plays a key role in the region. Relations with Moscow are mainly political and economic. Russia continues to be a mediator for us and together with us participates in creating conditions for international peace,” said the representative of the movement.
