President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy admitted that he forgot to invite his American counterpart Joe Biden to Kiev.
“Honestly, I remembered this after the meeting. It was necessary to talk in more detail about the visit of the President of the United States”, Zelensky told reporters.
According to him, the possible visit of Biden was discussed earlier in the course of communication between the American and Ukrainian teams. The meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and the United States took place in Washington on September 1.
Zelensky noted that the meeting went well, but “not always in a sunny atmosphere.” Following the meeting, the United States and Ukraine issued a joint statement stating that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is allegedly a “threat” to Europe’s energy security.
