Russian Senator advised the United States to think about the attitude of Abkhazia and South Ossetia towards Georgia

Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov commented on the words of the US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan. She doubted the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about Moscow’s readiness to restore relations with Tblisi.

In his Telegram channel, Pushkov noted that the American diplomat should pay attention to how they treat Russia.

For example, residents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia see the Russian Federation as a liberator. At the same time, Georgia, which considers them their own, they perceive as an enemy. It is quite possible that restoring relations with the Russians would help Georgians establish ties with these regions as well.

“The US Ambassador to Georgia should familiarize himself with the moods of people in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, who see Georgia as an aggressor, and in Russia as a liberator,” the senator wrote.
