Philippines seeks to expand cooperation with the Russian Federation in the fight against COVID-19

The Philippines assessed Russia’s contribution to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Chairman of the Philippine-Russian Business Assembly Armi Lopez Garcia commented on the creation and distribution of the Sputnik V vaccine worldwide.

She said that the use of the drug in the Philippines is a great achievement in the field of medical cooperation, reports TASS. During the Russia-ASEAN business dialogue at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

“One of the great advances in medical and scientific collaboration was the use of Sputnik V in the Philippines. Russian scientific progress is now saving lives in the Philippines, ”she said.

Garcia noted that her compatriots trust the Russian vaccine and want to be vaccinated with Sputnik V. She stressed that for the Philippines, cooperation with Russia in this area is of particular importance. The country does not produce its own drug, and therefore must closely cooperate with the Russian Federation, which offers a way to combat the pandemic.
