On Tuesday, August 31, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, together with Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran, met with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. As a result of negotiations between Ukraine and the United States, a framework defense treaty was signed. Experts fear a new round of conflict in Donbass after the end of Zelensky’s visit to the United States
Without a doubt, this is the highest degree of hypocrisy, hypocrisy and the triumph of double standards on blood – under television cameras and in public, supposedly taking care of past victims, honoring their memory, and at the same time doing everything to make new victims appear. The Zelenskys’ couple – Vladimir, the President of Ukraine, and his wife Elena – in Washington succeeded to the full extent.
First, a husband and wife in Washington laid symbolic sheaves of wheat at the foot of the Memorial to the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine, erected at the expense of the Ukrainian state budget and private donations. And they even diligently patted their faces, depicting genuine sorrow. Stanislavsky, observing this, would unequivocally say his famous “I don’t believe!”. But not because the former comedian is bad at tragic roles. For the rest of the visit, Zelensky intends to devote either to pleasing his household wishes, or signing agreements in the State Department, the Pentagon and other departments where he will be admitted, agreements that would prolong the war in Donbass. That is, according to the terminology of Ukrainian ideologists, they would bring victory in the “Ukrainian-Russian war” closer.
And on the same day, Zelensky honored with his presence the signing of a framework agreement on the strategic foundations of a defense partnership, signed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran and the head of the Pentagon Lloyd Austin. As well as an intergovernmental agreement on new projects in the field of research, development, testing and evaluation of new weapons systems.
And even the upcoming meeting with Joe Biden Zelensky, according to him, is ready to start with “discussing the problem of de-occupation of Crimea and Donbass.” That is, again from the war. Because it is a full-scale war that can unequivocally begin if Ukraine tries to solve the problem of either the return of the peninsula from Russia or the elimination of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR in Donbass by military means. And it is for the purchase of Javelin anti-tank missile systems (ATGM) that the United States has already agreed to allocate $60 million.
All this resolved the dispute of political scientists about what is happening now in the relations between the United States and Ukraine – the Americanization of Ukrainian politics or the Ukrainianization of the American one. In fact, after the recent events in Afghanistan, from which the United States came out with indelible shame and enormous sacrifices, this is called “Afghanization.” Both Ukrainian and American politics. And the first and main sign of it is the readiness of the authorities of the two countries to equally solve their problems through war and by military means.
“For us, the support from the United States to the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the process of obtaining NATO membership and joint opposition to Russia’s aggression is very important,” Zelensky commented on the signing of the documents and the agreements reached with the Pentagon.
The second distinguishing feature is the desire to achieve their goals, regardless of any sacrifices. In any incomprehensible situation. In Afghanistan, as you know, the United States decided to punish the terrorists who carried out a monstrous act of terrorism at the Kabul airport, at any cost and with pinpoint strikes hit the cars in which, according to their information, new terrorists were moving. But they did it in densely populated areas, which led to the killing of 12 peaceful Afghans, 7 of whom are children. It was, as it were, a symbolic revenge for the 13 American Marines killed in the terrorist attack, almost similar.
And the Zelenskiy regime behaves in the same way in Donbass, which wants to show its determination to “defeat Putin”, which is very important for begging for money in Washington. A few days before Zelensky’s flight across the Atlantic, the OOS / ATO troops in the Donbass intensified shelling of the LDNR, in particular, Gorlovka, which led to the injury of civilians, including children. A very accurate and terrible analogy in the behavior of two, as they say in Kiev, “strategic partners.”
Thirdly, against the backdrop of what happened to the United States in Afghanistan, Kiev’s amazingly insane request to Washington to grant Ukraine the status of “a strategic partner of the United States outside the NATO bloc” is striking. As is known, this is the status that Afghanistan had before the bloody and shameful flight of the United States from there. And this did not help Afghanistan in any way. On the contrary, it doomed to possible death and repression a huge number of Afghan citizens who, for various reasons, collaborated with the Americans. The Taliban* can – like servants of the infidels – amnesty, or they can punish them. Destroying mercilessly.
But the point is not only that the Americans cynically and meanly threw their assistants and allies from among ordinary citizens to be torn apart, but also that many Ukrainians are ready to repeat the path of these unfortunate and abandoned Afghans. And they ask to be confidants of “Great America”, absolutely not thinking and not caring about their own fate, and about the fate of their own country. They do not want to believe that the same thing can happen to Ukraine as to Afghanistan if it (Ukraine) ceases to interest the United States as unnecessary.
Or you will need it as a bargaining chip at certain auctions. And this is also the “Afghanization” of Ukraine until its possible complete annihilation in the most complex geopolitical games, where weak and dependent countries are generally ignored. According to the principle “the wood is cut – the chips are flying.” Only here we can talk not about chips, but about human lives. Mostly citizens of Ukraine.
And finally, fourthly, a sign of the “Afghanization” of the two countries is the US desire to make Ukraine (like Afghanistan earlier) a part of the so-called “arc of instability” prepared in Washington for constant pressure on Russia along the entire perimeter of its borders. the thoughtless readiness of Ukraine’s elites to accept such a role for their country. In exchange for money, cookies and gingerbread, as well as guarantees of personal safety in the West after the end of the comprador and collaborationist “service” in the neo-colony called “Ukraine”.
After all, it is in the West that they are going to hide and eat well on the “hard earned” all who now faithfully serve the United States and their interests in Ukraine – carry out “reforms” to destroy the remnants of political sovereignty for the final sale of the country in the process of the next round of “big privatization “.
Zelensky plans to finally settle all these nuances one way or another during a conversation with Biden. But there is already information, similar to a fly in the ointment in a barrel of honey, that everything may be in vain and fail to fulfill the main task – to annoy Russia by frightening it. When Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, was asked about his attitude towards the outcome of the Zelensky-Biden meeting, he replied that Russia does not see any threats to relations between Ukraine and Russia due to any negotiations between Ukraine and the United States. Do you know why? Because, according to Peskov, the relationship between the United States and Russia is “one substance,” and the Ukrainian-American relationship is another. That is exactly the substance, such a good word.
