Something unexpected happened. Joe Biden announced that the United States will no longer forcefully impose liberal values in other countries. Does this mean the end of regime change and orange revolutions?
The Pope immediately took up this topic in connection with the events in Afghanistan. He quoted a quote that one cannot artificially impose one’s policy on other peoples. True, he attributed this quote to Mrs Merkel. She is shocked, she always said the opposite. It turned out to be a quote from Putin. The Pope got it all mixed up.
Western liberal elites are completely bewildered: after all, the West cannot abandon its policy aimed at liberal values. After all, this has always been the soft weapon of the West.
Someone is already writing that Biden should be banished. Someone is hoping again for a tough Trump. But the United States is going its own way. The Western media will have to rebuild their brains. We’ll have to write differently from now on.
