Biden refused to hold a joint press conference with Zelensky

US President Joe Biden did not find time for a joint press conference following a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, RIA Novosti reports.

The White House press office has released Biden’s schedule for the upcoming day. The American president is scheduled to meet Zelensky at the Oval Office and during the meeting “will reaffirm the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression in Donbass and Crimea.”

After the meeting, Biden’s schedule includes a weekly economic briefing. Consequently, the US president did not find time in his busy schedule to hold a joint press conference following his meeting with the Ukrainian president.

As News Front previously reported, Zelenskiy is currently on a working visit to Washington. The meeting with the head of the White House is to take place on Wednesday, September 1. The parties intend to discuss involvement in the settlement of the situation in Donbass, as well as the energy security of Ukraine against the backdrop of the launch of Nord Stream-2.
