Allies will not look at Washington the way they used to, the former US leader says
According to TASS, former US President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox Business on Tuesday that the United States has lost the respect of the world community as a result of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan.
“They [countries] have lost tremendous respect for our country, it’s just unimaginable”, – he said, noting China and the European Union in particular. “Very importantly, we as a weighty player [on the world stage] have been humiliated, allies will not look at us the way they did before.
On 14 April, US President Joe Biden announced the end of the operation in Afghanistan, which became the longest overseas military campaign in American history. On August 15, militants of the radical Taliban movement (banned in the Russian Federation) entered Kabul without a fight and took control of it within a few hours.
