Media: Panjshir resistance forces repulsed a Taliban attack on one of the outposts

There are dead and wounded among the radicals.

According to TASS, citing a source in the province, national resistance forces from the northern Panjshir province, which did not submit to the radical Taliban movement (banned in Russia), repulsed an attack by militants on one of the outposts in the western part of the region.

“Tonight the Taliban tried to break through to Panjshir through one of the outposts on the west, but their attack was repulsed. There are dead and wounded among the Taliban. The situation in the region is currently calm”, said the agency’s interlocutor.

According to him, the Taliban have recently been concentrating their forces around the Panjshir.

“The negotiation process is not yielding any results. Most likely, the Taliban are preparing for hostilities and conducting a kind of reconnaissance in force”, the source added.

On Wednesday, Abdul Hafiz Mansour, who represents Panjshir in negotiations with radicals, informed about the first direct negotiations between representatives of the resistance forces and the Taliban delegation in the city of Charikar (the administrative center of Parwan province). According to him, the parties agreed to “continue the dialogue about peace in order to avoid a military clash.”
